Sculptra in Beverly Hills
Sculptra is an injectable that prompts your skin to build its own collagen. Volume returns gradually over a few months, and results can last two years or more. Every treatment plan is physician-led, under the direction of Dr. Justin Donlan, who often recommends it over traditional filler.
Is Sculptra Right for You?
Good Fit
- You have overall volume loss, such as hollow temples or flatter cheeks.
- Your skin has started to thin or soften with age.
- You want gradual change that no one can point to.
- You prefer fewer maintenance visits over time.
Not a Good Fit
- You want to see results right away. Filler works immediately; Sculptra takes months.
- You want to treat your lips. Sculptra is not used there.
- You are pregnant or breastfeeding, or have an active infection in the area.
- You have a history of keloids or abnormal scarring.
How It Works
Sculptra is made of poly-L-lactic acid, a material that has been used safely in medicine for decades. It is made by Galderma and was first FDA-approved in 2004.
Rather than filling space, it prompts your skin to make new collagen. The product is gradually absorbed, and the collagen your body builds stays.
That is why results appear slowly and last longer than traditional filler.
Sculptra is FDA-approved for smile lines and cheek wrinkles. Other areas, such as the temples, are off-label, and we will tell you when that is the case.

How Dr. Donlan Approaches Sculptra
- Dr. Donlan often prefers Sculptra to filler for overall volume loss, because it rebuilds rather than fills.
- We plan the full series up front, so you know the number of sessions and the total cost.
- We place it deep and spread it evenly, which lowers the risk of small bumps.
- If you need a change sooner, we may pair it with a small amount of filler.

Common Questions
How much does Sculptra cost?
Pricing depends on how many vials your plan needs. We give you a specific quote for the full series at your consultation.
Does it hurt?
We numb the skin first. Most patients feel pressure and brief pinches.
When will I see results?
Initial fullness fades within a few days. Real results build gradually and settle in around 3 months after your last session.
How long does Sculptra last?
Results can last two years or more, longer than most traditional fillers.
Why do I need to massage the area?
Massage helps the product spread evenly as it settles, which lowers the chance of small bumps.
Who performs the treatment?
Our treatments are physician-led. Dr. Justin Donlan, board-certified in internal medicine, directs every treatment plan, and you will always know who is treating you and their role.
What are the side effects?
Swelling, bruising, and tenderness are common and brief. Less commonly, small bumps can form under the skin. Even placement and massage lower that risk.
