Dysport in Beverly Hills

Dysport relaxes the muscles that crease your forehead, frown lines, and crow's feet. It works much like Botox, and some patients notice it a little sooner. Every treatment plan is physician-led, under the direction of Dr. Justin Donlan, a board-certified internal medicine physician.

Is Dysport Right for You?

Good Fit

  • Your lines show when you move: frowning, raising your brows, smiling.
  • You have tried Botox and want to compare, or want results that may show a little sooner.
  • You want softer lines without changing how your face moves.
  • You want a short appointment with little to no downtime.

Not a Good Fit

  • Your lines are deep even at rest. Dysport can soften them, but they usually need resurfacing or filler too.
  • Your main concern is volume loss or sagging skin. Dysport does neither.
  • You are pregnant or breastfeeding, have a neuromuscular condition, or are allergic to cow's milk protein.
  • You have an event in the next few days. Give it two weeks.

How It Works

Dysport is a purified botulinum toxin type A, the same family as Botox. It blocks the signal from a nerve to a muscle, so the treated muscle relaxes and the skin above it stops folding into a line.

Dysport units are not one-to-one with Botox units, so comparing prices by unit count can be misleading. We quote by area.

Dysport is FDA-approved for frown lines between the brows. Other areas, such as the forehead and crow's feet, are off-label. We will tell you when a use is off-label.

What to Expect

  1. ConsultationWe watch how your face moves, review what you have tried before, and tell you honestly whether Dysport is the right tool.
  2. Treatment dayA few small injections with a fine needle. Most people describe a quick pinch. It takes 10 to 15 minutes.
  3. First 24 hoursStay upright for 4 hours. Skip hard workouts, facials, and massages until the next day. A small bruise is possible.
  4. Days 2 to 14Results build gradually. At two weeks you see the full effect, and we can tell whether anything needs adjusting.
  5. Months 3 to 4Movement returns gradually. Most patients come back every 3 to 4 months.

How Dr. Donlan Approaches Dysport

  • We dose for your muscles, not a standard number of units. You should still be able to raise your eyebrows.
  • At a first visit we would rather start conservative and adjust at two weeks than overshoot.
  • If you have used Botox before, we look at how long it lasted and how it felt before recommending a switch.
  • If your lines are deep at rest, we will tell you Dysport alone will not erase them, and what will help.

Common Questions

How much does Dysport cost?

Pricing depends on the areas treated and the strength of your muscles. We give you a specific quote at your consultation, before anything is injected.

What is the difference between Dysport and Botox?

Both are botulinum toxin type A and work the same way. Some patients notice Dysport a little sooner. Results and duration are similar, and the differences are small and personal.

Does it hurt?

Most patients describe a quick pinch at each injection point. The whole treatment takes a few minutes.

Will I look frozen?

Not if it is dosed for you. The goal is softer lines with natural movement. If anything feels too strong or too light, we review it at two weeks.

How long does Dysport last?

Typically 3 to 4 months. It varies with the area treated, your muscle strength, and your metabolism.

Who performs the treatment?

Our treatments are physician-led. Dr. Justin Donlan, board-certified in internal medicine, directs every treatment plan, and you will always know who is treating you and their role.

What are the side effects?

Common side effects are brief: small bruises, mild swelling, or a headache. Less commonly, an eyelid or brow can droop for a few weeks. We review your history first to lower that risk.
