CO2 Laser in Beverly Hills
Fractional CO2 laser resurfacing is our strongest skin treatment. It removes tiny columns of damaged skin and triggers deep collagen rebuilding, for bigger change in fewer sessions. Every treatment plan is physician-led, under the direction of Dr. Justin Donlan, a board-certified internal medicine physician.
Is CO2 Laser Right for You?
Good Fit
- You have deeper wrinkles, acne scars, or significant sun damage.
- You want the most change in the fewest sessions.
- You can take about a week off and protect your skin from the sun afterward.
- You are ready to follow a careful prep and aftercare plan.
Not a Good Fit
- You have active acne, an infection, or frequent cold sores that are not managed.
- You have taken isotretinoin recently, or have a history of keloids or poor healing.
- You cannot avoid sun exposure in the weeks after treatment.
- You want results with little or no downtime. A lighter laser may suit you better.
How It Works
A fractional CO2 laser removes microscopic columns of skin while leaving the surrounding skin intact. Your skin heals from those untouched areas, replacing damaged skin and building new collagen.
Healing from the columns, rather than from a fully resurfaced surface, makes recovery faster than older CO2 treatments.

How Dr. Donlan Approaches CO2 Laser
- We are upfront about downtime. CO2 is a bigger commitment than other lasers, and the results reflect that.
- We prepare your skin in the weeks before, which helps healing and lowers the risk of pigment changes.
- We set depth and density by area, more aggressive on scars, gentler on delicate skin.
- If a lighter laser can meet your goals, we will tell you.

Common Questions
How much does CO2 laser resurfacing cost?
Pricing depends on the area and depth of treatment. We give you a specific quote at your consultation.
Does it hurt?
We numb the skin first. Most patients feel heat and prickling during treatment, and the skin feels like a sunburn afterward.
How much downtime should I plan for?
Plan on 5 to 10 days at home while skin heals. Pinkness can last several weeks after that.
How many sessions will I need?
Many patients need only one. Deeper scarring sometimes benefits from a second session months later.
Is it safe for all skin types?
Deeper skin tones have a higher risk of pigment changes. We assess your skin carefully and may recommend another option.
Who performs the treatment?
Our treatments are physician-led. Dr. Justin Donlan, board-certified in internal medicine, directs every treatment plan, and you will always know who is treating you and their role.
What are the side effects?
Redness, swelling, and peeling are expected. Less commonly, patients can have infection, cold sore flares, prolonged redness, or pigment changes. Rarely, scarring can occur. Prep and aftercare lower these risks.
